Brian Smith - President & CEO

Mr. Smith has a proven and successful 20-year track record within the Executive, Sales Management and Technical areas of the Medical / Pharmaceutical Distribution Industries including: Cardiovascular, Orthopedics, Endoscopy, Wound Management and Medication Management. Mr. Smith also devoted over two (2) years to Orlando Regional Medical Center as their Program Assistant for the Cardiac Rehabilitation and Congestive Heart Failure Center (Orlando, FL). Furthermore, he focused (5) years towards territory sales management and development for such recognized corporations as Surgical Dynamics (Tyco, Inc.), Exogen (J&J Smith-Nephew, Inc.) and Pharmco, Inc (Omnicare, Inc.). Mr. Smith had a four (4) year D1 baseball scholarship from Morehead State University (Kentucky) and graduated with a B.A. in Exercise Science / Sports Medicine in 1997. 

• Mr. Smith served as Pharmco’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing. He was instrumental in the development and execution of Pharmco’s sales and marketing strategy for each site (Cincinnati, OH – Largo, FL – St. Louis, MO - Kansas City, MO and Redlands, CA), including its sales department’s centralized data management system, which promoted sales in excess of $4.5 million within three (3) years. Pharmco was one of the nation’s largest and fastest growing independent LTC Pharmacy Providers, serving more than 19,000 residents in 180 facilities.  

• In the summer of 2004, prior to Omnicare’s acquisition of Pharmco, Mr. Smith transitioned away from Pharmco and later that month incorporated a Company in Cincinnati, OH to provide objective, third-party pharmacy claims administration and cost-recovery services for Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF’s), while offering reliable data reporting and rebate services as a competitive advantage in the LTC marketplace. 

• The Company had grown to service SNF’s across the country and contracted with many Independent LTC Pharmacy Providers and processed millions of pharmacy claims since its inception. Based on these impressive benchmarks, the company leveraged its early market successes to become a dominant market leader and was later sold.

• For nearly a decade, Mr. Smith had become increasingly interested in real property holdings as a business.  The vision became a reality and Sky King Properties, LLC was formed.  The Company owned and managed real properties along the beaches between Clearwater, FL and St. Pete Beach, FL (typically ranked top 5 beaches in the US).  

• SKP, LLC quickly expanded its property holdings and grew its hospitality brand.  It was eventually acquired by an investor group.

• Mr. Smith founded Veranda Rx, LLC. in Cincinnati, OH with offices near Knoxville, TN.
